What to Expect After You Request an Estimate: Scheduling, Timeline, and Prep
From requesting an estimate to walking on your finished floor: how scheduling, weather, prep, and cure timing work for an Arizona concrete coating project — and how to help it go smoothly.

Removing the Guesswork
Requesting an estimate can feel like a leap when you do not know what happens next. This guide walks through the realistic timeline of a concrete coating project — scheduling, weather windows, jobsite prep, and cure time — so you know what to expect before you commit.

Getting Scheduled
Scheduling depends on current workload, material availability, weather, and project size. Many residential projects can be booked within a short lead time, and occasional openings come up sooner.
The single best thing you can do to speed this up is give us specifics early:
Sending photos and square footage up front helps us confirm the fastest realistic start date and the right prep — the same diamond grinding approach that determines how long the floor lasts.
- Photos of the slab and any problem areas
- Approximate square footage
- Surface type and how the space is used
- Any timing constraints on your end
Weather Windows in Arizona
For exterior work especially, timing matters. Ideal windows are fall through spring, when daytime temperatures sit between 50–85°F and humidity is low. We avoid scheduling exterior installs during peak summer heat or monsoon season, because extreme heat shortens working pot life and monsoons introduce moisture and delays.
Exterior coatings need a dry substrate, stable weather, and enough cure time before rain, dust storms, or irrigation hit the surface. If the forecast turns risky, it is better to move the install than trap moisture and compromise the finish.
Preparing Your Space
A little prep on your side keeps the project clean and on schedule:
Garage doors may need to stay partially open during cure so they do not close into a wet coating — we will confirm those access details before the start date.
- **Clear the area** so we can access the full slab
- **Cabinets:** the cleanest result is coating the floor first, then setting cabinets on the finished surface — but we can work around existing ones
- **Wall paint:** paint walls *after* the floor is done; grinding, masking, and equipment can require touch-ups otherwise
- **Access:** if we have approved access and the area is ready, someone does not always need to be home the entire time
Installation and Cure
On install day, the work follows a predictable sequence: mechanical grinding to prepare the slab, repairs as needed, then the coating system build. The process is controlled with industrial vacuums, though grinding can still create some dust.
After application, cure time governs when you can use the floor:
We give you the safe return-to-service timing for your specific floor before we finish.
- Light foot traffic often returns relatively quickly, especially with polyaspartic systems
- Vehicle traffic requires a longer cure window
- Exact walk-on and drive-on times depend on the system, weather, and jobsite temperature
After the Project
Once cured, your floor is ready for normal use and simple upkeep — see the guide to cleaning and maintaining coated floors. Your coverage is documented too; how that works is covered in concrete coating warranties in Arizona.
